While it might be known for 31 flavors, the Baskin-Robbins Grilled Peaches ‘n Cream summer ice cream takes a summer tradition and puts it onto the cone. Ready to get grilling with a taste of summer sweetness?

When Baskin-Robbins does its Flavor of the Month, many people have to get that first scoop. Often each of those special flavors are inspired by a special event. For June, the limited edition offerings borrow for a summer tradition, the grill.

For June, Baskin-Robbins Grilled Peaches n’ Cream is the Flavor of the Month. Described as vanilla flavored ice cream with “rich grilled flavored peaches and a cinnamon sugar swirl,” one spoonful captures a classic dessert in a single bite. And, it doesn’t require standing by the hot flame of the grill.

While many home cooks top grilled fruit with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar, capturing that taste in the frozen form takes a deft hand. According to Baskin- Robbins, the chefs employed a “special grilling flavor.” The idea is to capture the authentic taste of grilled peaches. Given the cold temperature, it required a deft hand to highlight all the flavors.

Once that component was mastered, it was paired with the classic vanilla ice cream to add a luscious note. With a hint of spice and sweet from the cinnamon sugar, it could become an instant summer classic.

Thinking about this ice cream flavor, it seems to stand out in the freezer. It doesn’t appear that other ice cream brands have a “grilled” flavor. Even though other brands borrow from savory ingredients or comfort food, this Baskin-Robbins ice cream could spark a food trend. Why not have grilled or smoky flavors influence ice cream. Just think of a smoke rum raisin or a flambe banana option.
