If it’s not a sunburn, it’s irritation, or perhaps dryness that refuses to go away - there is no lack of issues my sensitive skin keeps facing, especially with the erratic weather. Of course, there’s always my trusty box of face masks and treatments that just need 20 minutes on my face for me to see a big difference. This week, I’m bringing my skin saviour face masks for the season - for alls kin types.

Sometimes, it’s a new product that doesn't react quite right. Sometimes, it’s the sun messing up my skin. In any case, the Thalgo SOS Soothing Mask has always come to my rescue. Usually, in less than 10 minutes, my skin feels calmer and burns less. Within the hour, I have no redness or irritation. The cold cream and plant berries combination somehow always works against aggressors of even the most unexpected kind.

Next up, is the worst-smelling, but also my favourite mask on this list, okay maybe the smell grows on you eventually. Since Biologique Recherche does not use fragrances or silicones, this face mask can be used for all skin types (especially beneficial for acne prone, oily, large pores skin type). It contains cucumber extract which both softens and hydrates skin as well as bentonite that works against toxins and impurities, helping supply oxygen to skin cells. If you struggle with excess sebum, blackheads or large pores, this is the mask for you.

Mask wouldn’t be the right term for this overnight treatment that always helps me wake up with replenished, balanced skin. Whenever my skin is feeling extra sensitive, irritated or dry, I just cleanse, and apply this overnight mask as my nighttime routine. Chicory root extract repairs skin’s natural barriers, the konjac root and hyaluronic acid gently hydrate and soothe the skin. Brownie points for its essential oil blend, the fragrance that’s just the dose of peace I need at night.

If you’ve been confused in the physical versus chemical exfoliant debate, you’re not the only one. Thankfully, I found a product that gets the best of both! This exfoliator has fruit and honey enzymes that gently remove dead skin cells while finely ground walnut shells are great for boosting collagen production and getting rid of those extra-stubborn blackheads. While most exfoliators break down the layers of the skin, this one also has healing properties which balance my skin. I use this once a week to decongest my skin by gently exfoliating my skin (read: gently, no rubbing!) to ensure all my other products perform better!

I’ve always struggled with needing clay masks to draw out toxins, and not being able to use them because of my dry skin. When I came upon the Purearth Mitti Clay Mask, all of that changed as it's the first clay mask I’ve found that reduces inflammation, without causing dryness. The licorice root is great for reducing redness, the madder root infuses a subtle glow to my skin that lasts for several days and the honey in it makes sure my dry skin doesn’t dry out further.
