After two years, The Awakening Festival of Wellbeing, Self Care and Connection returns to its roots on the Isle of Wight with a joyful, glitter-filled bang this weekend.

The Awakening Festival will be held at Northwood House, Cowes, on Saturday and Sunday.

The festival's sole mission is to offer a glorious wellbeing and self-care space as an antidote to modern society's stressful living, and the pressures on mental, physical and emotional health — made ever more prevalent in the world we live in because of the global pandemic.

This year's Awakening Festival welcomes a whole host of expert speakers and holistic heroes from both the Isle of Wight and beyond, including Laura Brand, author of Sunday Times best-selling book, The Journal for Magical Everyday Play, and Rosie Wolfenden MBE, co-founder and managing director of cult jewellery label, Tatty Devine.

There is also a creative partnership with Isle of Wight-based and nationally acclaimed carnival arts organisation, the New Carnival Company, to bring celebratory art to the wellbeing festival.

Attendees to The Awakening will get more than just getting away from it all, and donning the oxygen mask of self-care over the weekend.

There are more than 50 different wellbeing workshops to explore next Saturday, including inspiring conscious living talks, yoga and movement, meditation and mindfulness, self-care sessions and holistic therapies.

There's an evening of soulful fun and entertainment with The Glitter Party on Saturday evening, including a yoga rave and live DJ; plus Greying, Still Slaying, a fierce femme comedy empowerment performance from award-winning cabaret performer, Amber Topaz; a mass wellbeing karaoke experience and much more.

This will be followed by Super Soulful Sunday, a day to slow things down with deep integration, rest and grounding.

“My mission and desire is for everyone to give themselves the space, time and opportunity to explore how to bring self-care and wellbeing into everyday life as a way of being, not just a nice-to-have,” said The Awakening Festival founder, Kate Taylor.
