In the Hartford area, there’s a variety of different shops and stores all sorts of different flavors to choose from, along with combinations and toppings that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
We’ve put together a list of eight Hartford area shops that have their own unique way of serving America’s most famous dessert.

Frisbie’s Dairy Barn’s Hartford location is in the midst of Parkville Market but has multiple locations throughout Connecticut.
This store offers a variety of creative and fun flavors including an ice cream called the “Blue Devil Cookie Monster” which features a combination of blue vanilla ice cream with Oreos and chocolate chip cookies.

Arethusa Farm Dairy & Café produces all of its ice cream dairy from its farms in Connecticut, so all the flavors are truly homegrown.
Try out these seasonal flavors: cherry with dark chocolate chunks, peach, raspberry cranberry with dark chocolate chunks, maple walnut rum raisin, pumpkin with ginger molasses cookies and peppermint.

0 Degree Ice Cream gives customers five base flavors to choose from including plain sweet cream, coffee, dark Hershey’s chocolate, matcha and lavender.
Perhaps you can’t handle dairy? They’ve got it covered with 10 flavors that can be made with a dairy-free base of oat milk and coconut.
“Making the ice cream is one thing, but after that, you will still get 3 free toppings from a choice of 20 candies/cookies toppings or/and 8 fresh fruit toppings. Sauces and whipped cream are free!”
Milkcraft creates all of its ice cream in-store with the usage of liquid Nitrogen to freeze every scoop of ice cream.
The store specializes in unique items to put your ice cream in including a Hong Kong caramelized cone and sweet glazed bun.

Main Street Creamery & Café offers many different varieties of ice creams from regular style to no sugar added to low fat and even vegan.
They offer 50 different flavors, but if you are feeling particularly adventurous make sure to ask about the coffee chip cookie dough and pumpkin gingersnap which are both seasonal flavors.

AC Petersen Farms is a diner that has been around since the 1940′s and is known for its ice cream and milkshakes. In fact, their milkshake was voted the best in Connecticut.
In the mood for a classic dessert? The diner has a variety of sundaes to choose from including a peanut butter cup sundae and even an apple pie sundae.

Lulu’s Ice Cream Café offers a variety of flavors including some special ones such as watermelon sherbet and lemon sorbet.
