August 11th is national face mask day and I don’t know about you, but I plan on celebrating accordingly. Nothing helps me to unwind after a long day like a bubble bath, a glass of wine, and a face mask. If you’re also in the mood to celebrate, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorites—from clay masks to sheet masks— for the occasion. Grab your besties and get to celebrating (and masking)!

Don’t be scared of the dark gray color: this charcoal mask draws out impurities like a magnet and leaves the skin clean and clear. Weekly use will help to flush out environmental toxins, dirt, and debris that can clog pores. The star ingredients are bamboo charcoal to remove excess oil, white China clay to remove environmental toxins, and lecithin to dissolve impurities.

This minty clay mask is great for all skin types. It has exfoliating ground aduki beans to slough off any dead skin and is packed with refreshing peppermint oil and soothing honey. Lush even describes the smell as “Honey drizzled atop mountains of minty gelato” — yum! P.S. visit your local Lush store on August 11th and take home a free sample of any of their face masks! Thank me later.

After long days spent in the summer sun, your skin could use some TLC. This mask is made with a soothing blend of antioxidant-rich banana, aloe, and brown algae to hydrate your face and help calm redness and irritation. Plus, its bright blue color is so fun for mask selfies with friends!

For a mess-free mask night, this Tula Claydate detoxing & toning face mask stick is perfect. It glides on smoothly while its powerful ingredients go to work. Mediterranean clay draws out dirt and excess oil, apple cider vinegar, and witch hazel tighten the appearance of pores, and a blend of prebiotics and probiotic extracts help to balance skin.

For the sheet mask fans out there, this variety pack from TikTok's favorite brand, Loops, is sure to satisfy. It comes with five different masks so you and your friends can find your favorites: Sunrise Service, Clean Slate, Night Shift, Double Take, and Weekly Reset. They are perfect for taking on the go when you need a quick pick me up.

I declare August 11th not only national face mask day, but a day of self-care. Light some candles, listen to your favorite music and apply your favorite mask. Don’t forget a mask selfie!
